Baghdad, Iraq - A UNFPA delegation, headed by the Representative Dr Oluremi Sogunro, met with the Minister of Planning, Dr. Nouri Sabah Al-Dulaimi, to discuss the upcoming celebration of the 25 Years of the International Conference on Population & Development (#ICPD25) and the population census for Iraq 2020.

The talks focused on the preparations for the ICPD celebration on 28 July under the auspices of his Excellency.

During the meeting, UNFPA Representative and the Minister discussed the planning for the implementation of the 2020 population census in a timely manner and the means of support that can be provided by UNFPA and the UN agencies in Iraq.

The officials also discussed Iraq’s participation in the high-level conference in Nairobi in November to advance the implementation of ICPD action plan.
