On 7 August 2018, Mr. Ramanathan Balakrishnan, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) representative in Iraq, met in Baghdad with Dr. Abdulrahman Hamid Al-Hussaini, Head of the International Organizations and Conferences Department of the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
They discussed the past programmes of UNFPA and its ongoing cooperation with the Government of Iraq on reproductive health, women’s empowerment including survivor support, and technical cooperation with Ministry of Planning / Central Statistical Organisation towards Iraq’s census expected to be organised in late 2020.
