2022 Annual Report | UNFPA Iraq

In 2022, UNFPA embraced innovative strategies to prevent and respond to gender-based violence, empower youth, and enhance reproductive health services in Iraq. We formed new partnerships to ensure women and girls received essential services. Throughout the year, we not only intensified our advocacy at both central and regional levels but also collaborated closely with local authorities nationwide and engaged directly with women and young people. Despite facing numerous challenges, UNFPA's initiatives successfully created opportunities and choices for women and youth in Iraq, including those in refugee and internally displaced persons camps, as well as in broader communities.
