The country programme for 2025-2029 aligns with the UNFPA Strategic Plan, 2022-2025
and Iraq’s vision of becoming a resilient and prosperous nation by 2030. Derived from the
National Development Plan, 2024-2028 and the United Nations Sustainable Development
Cooperation Plan (UNSDCF), 2025-2029, the programme was developed through extensive
consultations with key stakeholders, including government ministries, civil society, women ’s and
youth groups, United Nations agencies and other development partners.
