In Iraq, 10% of the population live with one or more disabilities. Among those, close to 2 million are women of reproductive age.
In the last quarter of 2020, UNFPA launched its initiative to support women with disabilities by improving their access to integrated gender-based violence and reproductive health services.
To scale up this initiative health facilities need to be equipped with disability-friendly equipment and trained staff on the inclusion of persons with disabilities.
